"OS4 will come when it's ready, but the fun starts today!"

Welcome friends!

This page contains information about the OS4 On Tour - Gothenburg, Sweden. First of all we'd like to thank Jürgen Schober and everyone else who made all this possible, a really fantastic achievement.

Since it is very difficult to estimate how many visitors we will have, we urge you to simply send an email to os4-register@acggbg.org if you are planning to attend. This email is in no way cogent. Of course it's ok to just drop-in without registering. Please note that unless your email have a specific question, it will not be answered (too many mails).




Facts:

  • At the event the latest beta of AmigaOS4 will be shown. We can tell you that it will be running on PPC, showing off both native PPC and emulated 68k capabilities. There will also be a few AmigaONE's running Linux / MacOS X for you to play with.
  • Examples of what will be shown: Complete Roadshow tcp/ip stack including configuration, GUI customization, and much, much more.
  • The event will cost 40 SEK, this is not to make any kind of profits, simply to cover our expenses.
  • The event will take place on the 28'th of June (11:00 - 16:00) at Lilla Bommens Konferanscentra. This is located about 400 meters from the central trainstation. The address is Lilla Bommen 4! Here is a map of the area.
  • Ben Hermans from Hyperion Entertainment will attend the show and tell us more about OS4 and answer our questions.
  • We would like to emphasize that this event is not located where the AmiGBG show was located.
  • UPDATE! The cafeteria will be closed, but we have arranged for sandwiches and snacks.
  • About 200m from the event, you have McDonalds, Burger King and Pizza Hut, aswell as regular restaurants.
  • Hopefully, we will have a surprise for you when the time has come. :)

    This is an event to give you a preview of the latest AmigaOS for PowerPC Amigas. But most of all, this is an event to bring all the lost Amiga souls together and get a glimpse of the future. Because, the future, my friend, is Amiga.
